At present I have a small block shackled to the clew of the main and with two more blocks attached to the boom end I have a 4-1 purchase which works fine.I bring the outhaul to a cleat on the boom roughly abeam of the mainsail clew.I'm inclined to use a longer line led forward to a cleat on the boom near the gooseneck fitting.Obviously it would be even nicer to lead the outhaul aft to a clutch (and winch) on the coachroof but I only have the two cockpit winches and the two mast-fitted halyard winches.Any suggestions?ThanksJohn V1447 Breakaway
