I am thinking of running my mainsail halyard lines into the cockpit and would like to know tood ways to do this where the lines will run smoothly.ie like types of blocks, placement of them and angle. All the parts needed for this. Does this really help out, or is it more in the way to have a system like this. Thanks

Hi Francis....... This site has tech help on running rigging back to your cockpit. I installed uphaul and downhaul halyards back to the cockpit on the starboard side of the cabin. I also use the downhaul for single line reefing(also shown in the site) with "lazy-jacks" in the shopping section. Do it yourself with blocks from your local marine supplier. This rigging is ESSENTIAL if you want to prevent a BLOWDOWN in a desert GUST. Roller genoa furling is also another ESSENTIAL rigging for SAFE sailing.(www.sailcdi.com) happy reefing......love those desert winds that come out of NOWHERE and BLOW EVERYWHERE!...dan
