Yesterday we were rolling up the main in about 20 knots of breeze. I did not notice it but the sail did not furl properly and is now stuck in the mast. I am unable to unfurl it. It is really stuck. Any suggestions would be a big help.

Where in the unfurling process does it get stuck (e.g., at the beginning, halfway, etc.). Sometimes it will jam about halfway if the leech folds over when furling (may indicate sail is old). If so, try putting pressure on the sheet and vang as well as the outhaul.
If you haven't done it already, try pull with your hands directly the outhaul near the clew that it is attached to. Not from the other end of the outhaul at the cockpit (so to avoid all the friction through blocks, turns and so on). Also loosen the mainsheet. If it moves at least a little bit then furl and unfurl little by little. That may work it out.

Get in your bosuns chair and start pulling the sail out as you go up the mast. Inch by inch, foot by foot. Sometimes a plastic spatula will help to get the sail out of the slot and use vice grips to give you a bit of purchase on the sail. Use a cloth to protect the sail when you clip the vice grips on.
First, lift the rear of the boom so that it is less than 90 degrees angle with the mast. It is important that the pull is on the clew and not the leech. Next, start to pull on the outhaul. Once it become tight, pull the furler line to furl a small piece back in. Keep working it back and forth until it become loose and easy to pull out. Make sure that your furler line is not overlapping in the mast.
