I have a 1993 H33.5 with lazy jacks. My mail sail cover has seen better days so I'm having our local cavas shop make a new one for us now. We recently got back from the BVI using one of the Moorings 47' charter boats. It was equipped with a stack pack. The main sail drops into the pocket and you zip it up. Seemed to work very well. Are there some draw backs to consider? Convenience for this lazy sailor would be a plus. Does anyone have a picture of theirs? Thanks, Jeff

I have the UK version. See the link to the photo. The PO put it on. I like it sometimes, and othertimes, I want to take it off and go to lazyjacks and a stock cover. The problem is that on mine, getting to the top of the zipper to zip or unzip the thing is a pain. I have to climb to the (added) top pair of mast steps to pull the zipper up the last 4'. And, I have to do the same to douse the last of the sail into the pack. And, I don't like the pack hanging from the lazyjacks while underway and find stowing it a pain. Having said all that, it is one less big chunk of canvas to stow, the sail isn't all over you when you drop it, and in five minutes, it's all nice and tidy. The zipper has been replaced on mine, and is the source of maintenance. Sorry I couldn't give you a more definitive opinion. I also disgarded the zippered pack on my Vision 32 and went to a stock sail cover. Rick D.

Just lazy jacks

I was thinking of adding stack pack to make things easy but I think I'll keep my regular lazy jacks instead, stack pack sound like more trouble. Thanks rick you answered my question ,my plain lazy jacks work fine when dropping the main,I did make them removeable when not needed. nick
