I am new to the world of monohulls I've always been a Cat and Triamaran Sailor but, as we have gotten older we the wife and I looked for for Comfort so we purchased a 1998 Beneteau 321 Oceanis. I started having difficulty of furling the main sail and it turned out the the Car was trashed on the inside not allowing for proper furling. Also, I am not sure that the main malyard which was relplace by the dealer who had tied a bolin knot instead of replacing the halyard with a stock halyard which I believe it has a sewn eye that a Clevis and pin are used due to cavity restrictions inside the mast. So, my question is should I replace the halyard while the boat is on the hard or does it matter? Has anyone else had this problem?

Can you please expand a little on what trouble you are having when furling the main?

I'm just not seeing the type of knot used on the halyard as a factor.

Additionally, a trashed car would affect deployment more than furling.
