Im replacing my main halyard, I think it was the original halyard 93, 23.5. My new 5/16" halyard was right off the spool and I will have to secure the shackle with a bolin does anyone know if this will still let me raise my main to its maium height? The original halyard has a slpice making a loop that the shackle secured too looks much nicer. This replacement was recomended by my dealer to try an cure the main from slipping out of the clam cleat. I don't put much faith in it but I knew the halyard should be replaced. I took some pics of my spinlock install per this forum. You have to devolp quite a flicking motion to release the jib sheet not sure how it will work under load?
