On My 2006 Hunter 28 I Have The Standard Main Battery Switch.

After My Engine Is Running Can I Safely Change The Switch Between The 1 Both And 2 Settings?

Your Comments Will Be Appreciated.

Try this: with engine off and DC power on, put the main switch to 1. Turn on a cabin light. Then switch to Both or No. 2. If lights do not flicker, you can do this with the engine on with out burning your alt. Diode. Just don't pass thru "Off" with engine running.

Avoid the 1-Both-2-Off switch

If the batteries are wired so that they can be used together, there's no reason to select between them. If your intention is to use one till it's at critical charge status and then switch to the other one, there's no reason to use them both together.

To spare the batteries short discharge cycles, shortened life and possible damage, either use them separately all the time or together all the time-- don't mix charge/discharge modes. I have never discovered any good reason for the '1-Both-2-Off' switch, if it is not for 'just in case' use during some unrelated battery failure.
