So after a multi-month ordeal finding, buying, and getting a 260 hauled almost 800 miles I've finally had a few succesful sails. I'm not an experienced sailer, but so far we are pretty happy with the boat and are looking forward to using her a lot. We are stepping down from a 29 foot powerboat boat but the space in this 26 footer is not bad at all. We added the pop top over the companionway and that adds a ton of space.Dave Condon - it appears as though you are pretty active in this forum! I just wanted to thank you for your help getting my boat up here and let you know I've had her out three times so far. We hit some heavier wind (20-25 knot gusts) on Friday which was little much given my lack of experience sailing but had a great time anyway. From the looks of this forum folks really enjoy the 260 and I am looking forward to adding lots of stuff to her. I've made a bunch of improvements already (pressure water, battery charger, pop top, table mods, GPS) based on suggestions from this forum and will post pictures soon.FYI - purchasing a used 260 was a bit of an effort. I ended up finding one listed on this website but had to fly to see it and have it hauled. It was just happenstance that I met Dave and he ended up being a big help getting it out of the water and ready for hauling. I'm under the impression that he has a couple of used ones coming in though if anyone is looking.Pictures of modifications to follow if the sun ever comes back out up here.
