For Christmas my fiancee gave me a Magma kettle grill for our 310. I'm curious how, and where, others have mounted them. On the rails vs in a rod holder. Please share your experiences. Thanks.

mine is mounted on the stern rail with a rod clamp that you get from magma they are $55.00

Stern rail. The rod holders are for powerboats/trawlers with deep gunwales at the stern and no pushpits/stern rails.

On the stern rail so I can cook while standing on the swim step and run a hose from the spare propane locker to the grill. No more rusty green cans for me.

I've used both. Both worked fine for its purpose. Stern rail mount is a lol it'll easier I suppose. Had no stern rail on my H23 so I had to drill holes to mount it. We have a great stern rail on our H260. (I know those aren't you boat but figured I'd give you my thoughts on both.) Bottom line is use the rail if you have it.

I mount to stern rail on Port Side. (Lower rail) I can still use the extension hose to the spare tank (I bought mine at a sporting goods store and it is 8' long) I can site on the rail seat to watch the food cook, it is still over the side does not drip along the stern, and as you can see by the way we dock I can stand on the dock and cook also. (it's allowed to cook in the marina where we are)
