I have the Newport model and wish to connect it to the 20lb. house propane tank. I have the A10-225 hose kit and the A10-220 Valve, but can't figure out how it is supposed to hook directly to the grill. Anyone?

Connection Kit

You will also need a Propane Barbeque Low Pressure Connection Kit, WM # 183626. It is a Tee valve that allows you to connect the A10-220 control valve to your gas line. When you want to use the gas grill, connect the Control Valve to the grill where the propane bottle would normally be- it is a quick connect fitting - turn on your gas system as if you were using the stove, then open the Tee valve. You will be able to use the gas grill and the stove at the same time, if necessary. I installed this system a couple of yers ago and it has worked without a problem. I always prop the gas locker open with a block when in use, so the locker won't acidentally close on the gas line.

Still not seeing it.

I have the control valve as well. I have an email into Magma as well. What I'm looking for is the connection from any hardware/hose to the actual grill itself! Hal, you mention a "quick disconnect"...this is the piece I am not seeing in the kit.

where do you sail/keep your boat? I've got a bunch of relatives up there and may eventually move to that area. Been looking mostly at Guntersville area and Pickwick.

Hey Honeyman!

I keep a boat at Brown's Creek Marina on Lake Guntersville! www.brownscreeksailingmarina.com (I think)

Control Valve

PhotoEd, on my grill, the Magma Kettle, I permanently removed the blue valve, so the control valve clips into the pipe that comes out of the bottom of the grill. A hose runs from the nipple on the control valve to the Tee valve I mentioned. I attach the control valve to the grill only when I am using the grill, otherwise the hose it is attached to remains coiled in the gas locker. The grill is on the stern rail just above the gas locker.

hmmm

The adapters I've always used had an end on them that mounted directly to the original regulator/valve assembly the same way as the 1lb bottles of propane, and included a regulator at thetank side to keep pressure to 'bottle' pressures, have two of them here now, one I use on a soldering iron, and the other on a small heater I use when doing winter work on the boat, and the stove. Ken.

Still not seeing it.

That's the problem Hal, on the Newport, this new valve doesn't have the notch cut out so that it will slide past the "dimple" into the grill. Anyone have a Newport they've hooked to propane????
