I bought one last year for my car. It does not have the data to use it on the boat. They are pretty cheap now though and are touchscreen. My thoughts are that GPS technology is getting so good that soon all will be touch screen and will have all the necessary data preloaded for multiple uses and a lot cheaper than they are now.
The Magellan unit you want is called the Crossover. It has both land and sea capability. I now use the BlueNav Charts on an older Magellan Meridian unit and like them. The best part is that the charts cover much of N.A. Does anyone know if these older charts can be used in the newer Crossover unit?
