That's really nice, but kinda puts a damper on just going for an hour's sail after work or weekend chores, doesn't it?
One of the greatest things about roller furling is no more time spent removing and replacing sail covers if one just wants to go out for a quick, stress relieving sail, once in a while.

Would keep the rain out of the boat is the salon roof was a bit weepy.
Very nice work. Will be interesting to see if there is enough venting planned to keep the moisture bug at bay.

Quite good. Very good tailoring. Care to share some information for the rest of us?

What is the fabric? What machine did you use to sew the panels? How about making the patterns?

Just some guy...
Thanks, have others in the marina wanting their's done now.
Which is another reason why I did it....
I have a complete mobile full service Boat Canvas Design/Build shop on wheels, including stainless framing (bows) for both power & sail. Only one in Southern Ontario that I know of.
There is so much boat top work, I could live full time at the marinas from April to October doing boats if I chose to.

Capta...
Thanks, the cover takes less then two minutes to remove, and about 6-7 mins to snap into place.

John...
I have three vents sewn in the cover which weren't in place when I took the pics.
I also purchased a very low draw Vetus Marine power vent for the companionway hatch & I also have a programable timer for it. Going to install it the next time I'm down there. It will be running with the cover on, and the cover vents will do there thing...hopefully.

Mark...
No Otters here, thankfully.

Charles - fabrication details...Sailrite Ultrafeed, Sunguard UV B92 thread, all Sunbrella Sand Tweed, Sunbrella binding, Stainless Steel snaps and studs, #10 YKK marine zippers, poly webbing straps with sewn in Keder Welt which slide into aluminum awning tracks riveted in place onto each side of my boom.

Can't see it but my 42lb, 7'6" Saturn Dink is in the cockpit under the cover.

Ahh. A market cornered can be lucrative. :)
Good luck!

So many little snaps and cut outs, you have great patience. I've seen boats left in the Bahamas for the summer that could use something like that. Nice work.

Great job very well-crafted. I had a friend here in Toms River who passed away, that did the same thing his Canvas Shop was completely mobile. He did great work and saved a lot of time being at the boat. problem here in Jersey is you need liability insurance woth at least $1,000,000 Rider to perform work in the Marinas.

Love it.

I want to make something similar that can be used as a boom tent too. Now it's going to have to fit all the way around the gunnels like yours. Damn, your project is making more work for me.
