Made it to the Exumas! Cruising with Espin on Mini Pearl

Hey everyone! Long time since we've been able to get online. The internet access in the Exumas is rare and far between. We made it to the headquarters of the Land and Sea Park at Waderick Wells. That was our goal for the trip, so we have made our goal! We cracked open the bottle of champagne what we've brought 2400 miles from almost Canada, and we offered some to the ocean and then drank the rest!

Cruising in the Exumas is amazing. Literally AMAZING. The depth and complexity of the shades of blues it breathtaking. We find ourselves stunned speachless regularly. We don't want to leave to go back to the states, but me must turn around sometime soon to go deal with our belongings in storage and make some more money to cruise some more in the future. Current considerations include circumnavigating the caribbean and cruising to Guatemala and also a far fetched idea to go to the Scandanavian countries and explore the French canals. Who knows!!! We do love cruising so much now that we are seriously considering completely selling out of all of our land possessions and using the money to upgrade our boat for a live aboard for the foreseeable future.

I just wish I could stand up!!! I'm 6 feet tall, and I'm developing serious neck and shoulder muscular tension because of it. Sure, i go outside to stand on deck regularly, but the lack of space for my large frame is tiring.

I do enjoy having a huge dinghy with a 15 horse motor though. that kind of makes up the different a bit! We get to explore far away places by dinghy that most others never make it to, like the caves in Norman's pond.

We met Espin bullock from Albin Vega Mini Pearl in Norman's Cay. He's been cruising the Bahamas for 40 years now! We got a tour of his boat, and I'm writing a blog post about it for The Adventures of Capt'n K & Lala | From the Rat Race to a life of sustainability, for better or worse… Since then we've cruised south to the land & sea park headquarters, and we're all headed to Staniel cay now. We're out of fresh water and need a fill up. It's a desert here.

At least we have 3 gallons of drinking water and the salt water foot pump in the sink for washing!

It's becalmed here...hot and humid. seas are like glass. you can see the bottom below you 30 feet down. We'll have to motor to get water in staniel. more internet access there!

photos etc on the blog. videos shortly.
