MacGregor 25 Rudder Modification - Video

This is a corny little video I made as I modified my rudder on my boat. The rudder, while it could have been a little prettier, works very well. It took away most of the bad weather helm of the original design. It is much easier to control and the boat tracks much better.

What was the cloth weight and what'd you use to wet it? I bought a Mac sans rudder, so the info would help in my rudder build.

Can anyone give me the measurements for a Venture 25 rudder. I just purchased this as a project boat and have found out the I donot have the correct rudder for my 25. MacGregor said they do not have drawings of that vintage anymore. I have a complete wood shop with plenty of Mahogany. Any pictures with a few critical measurements would be very, very, helpful.

Here is a photo of my newly fabricated split rudder and the original rudder. Also attached is a sketch showing the dimensions of the original. Hopes this helps.
