Recently purch a 1995 430 Legend which was a Lake Mich boat. The macerators were removed and the plumbing changed to comply with Gr Lakes regs. Would like to know the original hook up from thru hull valve to macerator and to what hose outlet on tanks fore and aft. How much of a loop between the thru hull and the macerator for fore and aft holding tanks. Thank you.

Would have been helpful if you'd registered...

As a guest, we have no idea of where you are, whether you're in waters where it even makes sense to install a macerator...Or better yet, whether it would make more sense to install a CG certified Type I MSD (device that treats and discharges each flush legally AND with -0- negative impact on the environment).

However, that's not what you asked. So we'll try to answer your question. And how the factory may have done it, or how a marine supply vendor thinks it should be done is irrelevant. Doing it right is all that matters now.

You have two tanks...one fore and one aft...so the following applies to each tank:

ABYC standards call for a vented loop between any macerator an the thru-hull that's at least 6-8" above waterline AT ANY ANGLE OF HEEL. You can get around installing a loop by mounting the macerator at least that high.

As for what hose outlet on tanks fore and aft...I'm not sure I understand the question. In most cases a tank will have only one discharge hose...put a y-valve in it that provides a choice between going to the pumpout and going to the macerator. Someone else may suggest a tee instead of the y-valve...and you CAN do that. But I prefer a y-valve because it cuts off the flow from the tank to allow the macerator to be serviced...which, when you remember that no one ever discovers that the macerator isn't working except when the tank is full.
