Does anyone have a picture of the origional Mac 25 galley? Mine did not come with one and I am going to build one but I need a place to start. I understand the factory galleys were not too popular and were built to slide back under and beside the cockpit. Were they on tracks or rollers? Thanks for any info you can provide.

galley

The Galley slides back in the same manner as the main hatch. No tracks or rollers. Just a fiberglas "lip" that keeps it from falling off the base. I don't have any photos.

That worthless

Hey Bruce, The "galley" was worthless. It looked nice, but was almost totally impractical. Easier to just use a portable stove on the dinette table or cockpit seat. That space inside the "galley?",..that was for a 5 gallon water supply jug and a 5 gallon grey water reservoir. You'd be better off cooking on the dinette table or cockpit seat. I prefer throwing a steak on the stern rail grill that detaches for storage. Unless you plan on turning your boat into a kitchen on water, everything you use for food preparation should be disposable: Aluminum pans that double as eating surfaces; disposable plastic utensils; disposable plastic cups; trash bags and rolls of paper towels; and bottled water. Don't forget the can opener and matches! Soup and sandwiches are the easiest, although I have done a minimal amount of cooking while "water camping." Ever try cooking while the boat is rocking? Damned near impossible! At the end of your sail, or camp-out, or whatever, the last thing that you will want to do is clean-up a kitchen. Easier to just grab the trash bags and throw everything into the nearest dumpster. Don't anyone ask me to send them my "galley." I took it to the dump a long time ago.

Worthless and Galley

Thanks for your comments. I am going to follow your recommendations and also save myself some room and expense.
