M25XP water pump

...this is more an archives update than anything. The water pump seal started leaking on my M25XP, so I went to the archives and found the model number for the Kubota water pump...ordered the pump and it fit perfectly. OK for the price comparasin:

Universal Pump at Torresson marine = $309
Kubota Pump at local tractor store = $154

...a no brainer.

Have you changed it yet? It was a bear just removing the pulley. I had to cut a piece of the fiberglass. I'd be curious how complex a job this was. Also, post the Kabota part #

are your sure they are the same part, or is the torreson part made for marine use?

Yes, morty, they are the same, it's a D950 Kubota tractor engine. There is nothing marinized on that engine except the addition of the HX and the rw pump.

I had no problems with the install..pulley came off 1st try after a shot of PB Blaster. the usual gymnastics trying to tension the alt. belt, found that my small mazda miata tire jack fits under the alt and will hold it in place as I tighten.
