I went to Winterize the Boat. I discovered several ounces of engine oil floating on the bilge water. Inspection of the engine revealed no obvious leaks. I suspect it is a cut in the oil drain suck out hose, the pan gasket, or even a pinhole in the pan. It appears that I have to pull the engine to access these leaks. Am I missing something here? Is there an easier way?

On my Catalina 30 with a m25xp I found the bolt that holds the drain hose to the pan had become loose and started leaking. I was able to get in there with a very small socket wrench (about 3 inches long) from the bilge and tighten it. Solved the leak.

Thank you

Hello Cromer. thank you for taking the time to reply. You were totally correct and your good advise saved me from a an unwanted engine pull.
Just as you said, the banjo bolt is acessable from the front of the engine via the bilge. The bolt that connects the oil suck out hose had worked loose after 24 years. You really saved me from a difficult and unneeded project of removing the engine. I deeply appreciate that you took the step to share your expiritce.
