I have a 336 with only one LP gas cylinder and would like to add a second. I would like to order it if possible, but unfortunately I am in Virginia while the boat is at Burnt Store (FL). Is one of the cylinders in the West Marine Catalog a proper fit? If not, could someone suggest a supplier? I do not know the size or any of the significant information, so anything one might tell me would be helpful. I hate thinking I am going to run out at the most inopportune time. (And we always do, don't we?) Thanks for any assistance. Rodney

Quick Answer

I don't remember the source, but I got the information for my second tank for my 340 from Hunter Marine and was located in California. Cost was about $85 several years ago. 336 uses the same tank. Hunter can be emailed at: Greg Emerson [huntermarine@worldnet.att.net] He will respond to your questions very promptly. Jim or via a link from the main page of this web site. Jim

My 410 has a single 10 lb. aluminum tank in the locker with room for a second. I purchased a second at a local gas and grill store. I think it was 20-30 dollars cheaper than the West Marine catalogue, but what else is new. Bryce S/V Spellbinder

I too added a additional tank for our 340. I got it through the dealer @ Racine Riverside last year and it was $60. Have recently seen them at Blaines Farm and Fleet for $28 so you might want to look around at different supply stores. Chris Festina Tarde

New Tanks

I replaced both of my propane tanks this spring. Hunter purchases the tanks from Seaward products, their phone number is 562-699-7997. They wanted $71.88 per tank. Surprisingly they recommend contacting BoatUS where I wound up buying them for $55 each (shipping included). Use Seaward pn 93270. 4 lb propane tank Boat us 45.95 x 2 with 10.32 shipping Also, check this # with BoatUS - Seaward order # 18292120. They use this as an ID to check on non-catalog items. Shipping was direct form Seaward and took 3 days. Good luck

Ordered one

I just ordered one from JSI, $55, shipping included. Thanks guys. I had the same experience with Seaward, they didn't want to sell me one. They recommended BoatUS or "one of the other suppliers." Thanks again. Rodney S/V Avanti
