I notice a breaker on the electrical panel on my recently purchased H280 labeled "LP Gas".....but I have an Origo alcohol stove and I don't believe there is any LP tank on the boat.

Was LP stove an option on the H280? Did Hunter just install the breaker as a default? Or am I missing something (it looks factory installed, not a PO mod).

I always thought I would want a propane stove, but after using the Origo to make coffee and cook bacon and french toast for me and my crew (2 teenage sons) on our "voyage home" from Milwaukee where we took delivery to East Chicago, IN, I was impressed with the Origo and I am sure the non-pressure alcohol is safer than LP/Propane.

Both fuels can be very safe if used properly. These are a few thoughts on alcohol as a cooking fuel. It stinks and some people may get naseous in the enclosed cabin space of a boat. The alcohol flame is practically invisible so careful with spills but an alcohol fire can be easily put out with water. Alcohol is a more expensive fuel than LP but it all boils down on how much cooking are you going to be doing. Denatured alcohol purchased at a hardware store is quite a bit cheaper than the alcohol sold at WM. Alcohol evaporates easily so those Origo burner gaskets need to be put in place when the stove has cooled down and is not in use. Fuel should be stored in a metal container with an airtight lid. Enjoy your new boat.
