I have a lowrance global map 3200 in a boat that is new to me . Their website says it is no longer available . I have a website for create a map and it said not available . Can some one tell me if I would be better off to replace this unit with something new or is there a way to get the software and maps I need to use the unit . Any information would be appreciated , Mike

Mike, maybe you can find someone selling the CD.

Here is a new, unopened Map Create 6 for $60.

The manual says you just need to get the maps onto an MMC or SDC card, so you need a card that is compatible with your PC and your device. The "MMC" and "SDC" tells me you might have an issue with newer SDXC cards (FAT32, over 4GB). If you do, try to find an older MMC or 2 or 4GB SDHC card. The device is likely expecting FAT12 or FAT16 format, which will then be limited at or below 4GB.

I would urge you to not download the free bit-torrent version of Map Create from WINDUPDATESTAR or anywhere else for that matter. That seems like an invite for malware.

Manual says it can use Navionics maps also.
