Lowering an e-27 mast

I have a 1977 e-27
The mast looks like it is on a hinge How do you lower it , is it a one man operation? I can find no info on this with the boat(we have had her for just over a year)

There is no hindge method of lowering the mast on your ericson .It must be steped down with a crane for the first time
I would recommend you do this for practice anyway at least once.
I have developed a hindge system for my ericson 27 so i can step the mast solo ,it took about a year to design and think out ,using a gin pole , 3 cable guides on a ss ring that attach to your lazyjack lines and 3 bow cleat fittings . It works well .Google mast stepping

I found Ericson paper work on E-27 hinge for mast and e-27 / 29 tabernacle ,wire rigging I will share copys with any one who is interested it is so simple it is a one man operation
