My 89 doesnt have a working low oil pressure alarm. I bought a new alarm and am trying to install it. The uploaded picture shows what I found behind the cockpit panel. I traced the wire from the oil switch on the engine to the circuit panel in the picture. The wire I traced is attached to the very small wire going to the circuit panel. You can see the blue crimped connection. What is this circuit panel? Is it the low oil pressure alarm? It doesnt look like the one I bought. My plan is to cut this wire and connect it to the new alarm. Any thoughts?

It doesn't have to look like the old one, it just needs to have the same connections and function properly, then mount it as it you can figure out.

The new boards have much louder signals (outputs) and you'll actually be able to hear them over a running engine! How neat...

Also, while you're at it, make sure that the old wiring trailer connections have been upgraded, usually called Catalina Wiring Harness Upgrade. You don't have to replace the wiring, just the trailer connections.

Nice upgrade (both of them). :)

Is the small circuit panel actually the old alarm? If so, what was the purpose of all the capacitors or whatever the electrical stuff is that is part of the alarm?
