Hunter 20 Lake Monroe
In preparation for our trip to the North Channel next summer I have rounded up a small 10 lb Cruise and Carry motor and made a motor mount for our inflatable raft. Less than a 150 in it all. I had to clean the carb several times but now the motor is dialed in and starts on the first pull almost every time which is unusual for a 2 stroke.
I tested it out on our small pond and it worked great, although all I could do was go in a tight circle. Hoping to find a bigger waterhole to try it out on soon. Glassing the floor board now that I know it works. You can check it out here

Looks like you are doing fine! That tiller tamer really is called a redneck tiller tamer but you need to take 2 raps around as I recall. Whatever works!
Add a good additive to your gas and then you won't have to clean the carb again.
Have fun! Chief

Thanks Chief. The redneck tiller tamer works great. My fiancé is amazed at how much of a difference it makes as the friction it cause keeps her from working the free play back and forth. Says she does not get as tired at the tiller with it LOL!
The carb cleaning was required because the motor had not ran for close to 20 years when I got it. I only run Avgas in my small engines, at least till the EPA takes it away from us. Had the same weedeater for 23 years now and still going strong. On its second plug because I thought it was time for a new one after 20 years. Have yet to use a gas additive.
Had a great night sailing last night. Was a slow run back to the slip but the light air was great to sail in as it was like the sails were in slow motion and Cindy could really see what was happening with each puff of wind. Just wish we lived closer to the lake. That hour drive home at midnight sucks.
