Does anyone have any experience using a Lovejoy coupling instead of a standard coupling between their transmission and prop shaft? Since a Lovejoy coupling can manage a one degree shaft misalignment, engine alignment could be less exact. The rubber damping material might also smooth out some vibration. Lovejoy couplings are used in an amazing variety of applications - why not on boats? Paul Meyer

a rubber flexible damper on one engine, odd enough because he has two engines. Doesn't a rubber damper give you somewhat of the same effect?

Paul,Lovejoy has a very large web site and a wide
range of products. They also have a guide site where-in you specify the driver and the load and they recommend the proper coupling.. They would probably be excellant but possibly over engineered. I install a "Drivesaver " coupling in my drive train.
