Lost Mast hook/fitting

Hi,

We are new boat owners and i have made the cardinal mistake by dropping something over board. On the Hunter 23.5 there is a small hook/fitting which threads into the mast and prevents the sliders from coming out of the mast when the sail is lowered, I am sorry I don't even know what the piece is called, does anyone know what it is called and where I can purchase one (in my case I should purchase 2)?

The sail slides and track are rectangular on my 23.5

Sail Stops and they come in a couple of sizes.

Others have suggested that when you get your new sail stop, tie a piece of fishing line to it and somewhere on the boom.

I think this is went deep six,the slide lock Phil has will work.I dont think this store has them

Is he talking about the mast gate? That's the small cover over the slot you put the sail slugs in.

The piece shown in one photo was the sail stop which Z Spar used for their masts. You should be able to put a smaller sail stop up the slot.
