Greetings! Took the boat out for the maiden voyage yesterday and my largest/longest batten slipped out while the main was up. It was pathetic, I could see that it was coming out so I quickly dumped main and watched in slow motion as it bounced off the bimini and into the drink : (. So, with memorial day looming and being that i'm in delaware...what are my options? I hear it isn't good to sail without the batten but i don't have the time to run down to annapolis and if i did i'm not sure where to go. Any pointers are greatly appreciated. Ryan

There's probably a couple down your way. They normally carry batten material although you may have to cut it to size. On my 27' the end of the pockets are sewn with whipping twine so they don't fall out. Also my battens have duct tape on the ends ( I guess to dull the sharp edges to not damage the sail?). Manny

...or else the material. If you do buy the material, be sure to buy the Batten end caps also to you won't tear the main. I used to use sail tape to seal the batten pockets.
