Just back from first epic adventure in new 240. Sailed about 140 nautical miles roundtrip, last two days in small craft advisory with 20 knots causing the rigging to actually hum. Hot damn the boat did great - and sailing to windward no less. Washed boat on Friday night at marina - including rub rail in a few places. Sailed all day Saturday, spent night on the hook, got going Sunday morning into the maelstrom and pulled into a marina for ice/gas/lunch in the afternoon. Something looks funny here...oh, dear, the rubrail is gone! So, either I was a victim of a fraternity prank while asleep in the river or the rubrail cap just fell off - around the entire length of the boat. Anyone know where to get replacement rubrail cap? Has this happened to anyone else? The rubrail backing, screwed into the hull, is in seemingly fine shape. Thanks for any insights. Drew

My Rubrail Untacks Almost Every Sail

Drew: Almost lost my rubrail this weekend. In a following sea, the entire starboard rail unset. Got it back in though. It's routine for me to squeeze some part of it back in after every sail....and my boat is a 2004 model also. I've tagged rubrail as a winter project...to figure a way to seat it well. Don't think glue is the answer ...any ideas my friends.....Mark

Glad I'm not alone...

...but where on earth do you get replacement rubrail? Should I make a warranty claim against the dealer? This is way too weird... Of all the things to lose...
