Two ladies and 2 dogs survived 5 months "lost at sea" in the Pacific. All reported in good health.

Although the US Navy referred to them as "Sailors", at first blush, I am not so sure. The Navy also said their vessel was not "seaworthy".

Looking at just the pictures, I think I could have sailed their nice size boat to land.

I would note there has been many Pacific Typhoons this year.:yikes:

Anybody want their boat?:)
Last known derelict position 900 Miles from Japan.

I know USN is not a salvage operation, but I suspect they will note last known position and give warnings.
Jim...

PS: Sailing the Pacific, they were lucky for sure.

I've had a lot of questions about this story since it was first reported several days ago. Note how clean they are and how clean and well-styled their hair is in the photos. Both look fit and tan, not sunburned...even the dogs look plump and well cared for. They lost their engine early in the voyage, but had enough power to run a water maker and send out distress calls for several months without any way to charge the boat's batteries? I didn't see any solar panels on their boat.. Note how neatly the sail is furled on the boom...

Definitely a very fishy odor about the whole thing....

Very fishy. I noticed that their hair was a little too well groomed and they looked a little too well fed. Even their clothes looked like they were just back from the dry cleaners. How did they get 5 months of food on that boat? Why could they not unfurl the genny on sail somewhere over 5 months. I'm thinking more fake news. Wonder what the navy thought.

It seems to me if your going to go out on big water you had better know how to fix everything the may influence you personal survival. I guess that is just old man thinking not consider by the young women skippers.
