The groundwire from my mast is wrapped around the forward keelbolt under the nut. The exposed wire is pretty corroded at this point. I'd like to loosen the nut, cut and strip to fresh wire, wrap it around and tighten the keelnut again. Is this safe to do without disturbing any seal, etc., between the hull and keel? Also, there's some kind of sealant under each keelnut and washer...anyone know what this stuff is? Thanks all.
