loose steering on a 26s

The steering on my boat is very loose. a large movement of the tiller results in little or no motion in the rudder.Have any of you found a way to tighten this.

Tighten that 26S steering

Mine did that too, I bored out the tiller post hole and had the two plates on the tiller reemed to accept a larger bolt. That resolved the problem. Unforunately I didn't do a real smooth job on the tiller post and it still has a little slop in it. I'll have to do some fine trimming on the post to make it perfect.
