Yes, that is a Cherubini design. They were built between 1975 and 1984 so it cannot be a 1987 model. Beware of any title documentation that claims the boat is a 1987 model. The price depends on the condition. A boat with a good running engine, fair sails and in good condition ready to sail can be found for around $7,000. Figure out how much would it take to bring that boat into good running condition. Their weakness are softness in the mast step as could be evidenced by a bending of the step support inside the cabin. The plastic hatches are usually shot but I see the ones in the boat have been replaced with some type of homemade ones. Check their effectiveness. Check the thru-hulls and valves. The OEM valves were of the gate type and being around 30 yrs old they should have already been replaced. The boat is notorious for its propeller walk in reverse. That is something that can be dealt with but is something you should be aware off. You should at least hire a diver to inspect the hull and perhaps a rigger to inspect the riggin. The price tag of $1000 may not warrant a survey but understand that the cost to effect hull repairs and new riggin may run a few thousand dollars. It could even cost more to dispose of the hull than the purchase price so consider investing a couple of hundred dollars in some inspections or limited survey.
