Looking for used sails - 222

Hello- I am looking for a set of sails (main and Genoa) for my O'day 222. My sails are a bit old, and I'm sick of having ugly looking sails out there! :cussing:

I am also searching for a CDI headstay/furler for the Genoa.

I am totally ok with purchasing these used, as long as they are in working shape.

Please let me know if you have these and are willing to sell them.

Used sails are typically hit or miss. Most people get rid of them when they get to the point yours are at. 90% of the time you are buying a sail that no longer was working for the old owner.

Every now and then you get lucky. Someone buying racing sails. Something like that. Reach out to owner's forums. Also national sail consignment shops. Search by size and boat type. Like this.

What sort of spars do you have for your 222?
I have the Z-spars and it seems like my sails are too small for the rig... do you think this is possible? Or is it typical that the mainsail doesn't go all the way up the mast?

Personally I would save up your pennies and hold out for new sails, unless yours are ripped up and you just want to get out there. My .02

Thank you everyone! I think I will just bite the bullet and get new sails. Has anyone just ordered new sails from D&R Marine? Or do you prefer to use a local sail loft that can come to the boat and measure everything out?

Go to baconsails.com , put in your boat or sail measurement and see what they have. They get sails of all types, have HUNDREDS in the back room. I've been there when they lay the sails out on the big table and rate them. They even give them back to the owner if there is no life left in them except to cover firewood.

Hi Jersey, sent you a PM. I am selling a CDI roller furler w/ a 130% genoa from a 1980 O'Day 22 fractional if it will fit as well as a storm sail (never used) and a 150% hank on genoa.
