Look at Long Beach

We had ours there until we moved to Florida. Great access to Cat and West Ship Islands. Good ramps right there. KMart and a grocery store accross the street (Highway 90). We really enjoyed it there.

Closer the better

Hi Steward, Are you moving from BR? As someone from LaPlace, I can tell you there are many advantages to living on the MS coast. If not you may consider a slip on Pontchartrain. You can always trailer to the coast. The fewer miles you have to drive to your slip the more you'll use your boat. I'm on the list for a slip 3 miles from my home in Ocean Springs (related link). $35/month for a 10' wide slip includes electricity and water! There are more names on the waiting list than there are slips in the harbor. I expect my name will come up within the next 4 years. For now my O'Day 20 is hard-docked in my backyard. I launch at the Gulf Islands National Seashore Park for $20/year. Less than 2 miles from home. Long Beach is a good place to dock. Check with the Bay Marina in Bay St.Louis has both slips and dry storage. http://www.baymarina.com/

Thanks for the input.I am not relocating to the coast, wish I was, but we like it down there more so than Ponchartrain and feel that the longer drive would be worth it. Stewart
