WI
We live in Racine, WI just below Milwaukee. We have taken MANY trips in our trusty '89 H28.5, the longest being 3 weeks! Here's the breakdown...WI: Nice, easy sail to Pt Washington whcich has a nice harbor, municipal marina with good showers, restaurants nearby and plenty of shopping for the ladies. ANother easy sail to Sheboygan which also has shopping, nautical shops, good restaurants and a great marina. Next, up to Manitowoc withits nice harbor, nautical museum and a submarine open for tours, and there are good restaurants and shopping. All of these are within walking distance. Algoma has a small boat harbor, is very quaint, has a winery and a food store, allwithin walking distance. The ALaska Club is a nice restaurant some distance away, but the owner will come and get you and bring you back to your boat. From Algoma, it's a short sail to the Sturgeon Bay ship channel and Sturgeon BAy itself. See Palmer Johnson yachts being produced, and walk to restaurants and shops. You can also see huge tankers and oreboats going through the channel. From there, go NE to Door County with Ephraim, Fish Creek (a favorite but crowded) and Sister Bay.In Michigan, there are many neat harbors all within 8-12 miles of each other. Saugutuck, Holland, Grand Haven, Muskegon, White Lake, Pentwater (really neat!), Ludington, Frankfurt, Manistee..all offer lots to see and all within walking distance of their harbors.Enjoy!
