Rudder replacement.

Just a heads up. The exact dimensions aren't really needed. If you can match the rudder stock diameter and length, a close match will work. there are bound to be pictures of the rudder on a boat posted here on the internet. for additional help, go to Yahoo groups. WWW.Columbia-Yachts.com. there is a wealth of information there, and the moderator Eric, can point you in the right direction. Larry Wilson

Another thought

It's not an absolute that the new rudder has to be an exact duplicate of the old one. If you can find something with the same size rudder stock(tube) and somewhat similar in size and shape, you can use that. If you can find a rudder frame, you can build a new rudder yourself with plywood and fibreglass cloth. Wander around the boatyards in your area. You'd be surprised what you can find. One man's junk is another's treasure. Ask the yard guys if they know of any thing laying around. check with brokers, alot of them have stuff crammed in tool sheds that was left behind by owners. I bought a bow pulpit for my Columbia Sabre last week for $50. The fabricator wanted $300 to build a new one. Larry
