Looking for basic info for mounting mast back in sailboat and then specific info for a 1990 C&C 30' MKII with roller furler and split adjustable back stay?

We had the mast pulled this year and had all the rod rigging checked out. Also replacing the halyards with Dyneema. Now its time to put everything back together.

Thanks in advance,

there are several sources online with graphics. But you have a masthead double spreader rig with in-line spreaders, keel step.

The shape you are after is a slightly forward mast exiting the mast partners with pre-bend such that you have a 2-3inches rake. The mast will then act like a spring and backstay tension will create the added curvatrue to depower the main.

Start with cap shrouds 15% of breaking strength feels like a lot, but is ok. get the mast even side-side then tighten in increments. Intermediates I have around 8% then lowers similar. The babystay will help get the mast pre-bend moving in the right direction as you work the cap shrouds. Under sail in moderate pressure, check straightness of the mast and adjust int. and lowers accordingly.
