Hunter Legend 35 Dauphin Island
I have just purchased a 1987 Legend 35. We are in the process of having her hauled and having a bottom job done. I was wondering if anyone has advice on where I can find new stripes and logos for the boat. The current stripes and logos are really worn and are in need of replacement.

I am also looking for the black exterior paneling that is around the portholes. They are really faded and need replacing.

Also, I am looking for the teak wrap around cabinet doors that are located under the galley sink.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The model logos are long gone but I believe that boat has medium blue and red 1/2" stripes. We can also get those colors in 7/8" and a wide stripe for the waterline. If that's the case let me know, we have those in stock. The woodwork, unfortunately, is no longer available. The good news is, that's probably the easiest part of the boat to fabricate. :)

Phil's suggestion to use tape is a good one; and it lasts surprisingly long.
That boat had a light blue/gray boot stripe the same as my 1990 35.5. We did a trip from NJ to FL and back and decided to raise the water line to the top of the existing boot stripe. I added the new boot stripe 1" above the new waterline with 3M vinyl 3" (maybe 4") tape in Navy Blue (the more recent Legend boot stripe color) and slightly flared it at the aft end by piecing it and using an x-acto and straight edge. I also put a 1/4" red stripe (also with 3M tape) about 1" above the boot stripe and another one about 1" below the shear stripe. It made the boat more striking and the changes made it appear to be a more recent model.
The logos are probably not available anymore but, with tracing paper, vinyl sign material, a straight edge and an x-acto knife, you would be surprised what you can do.

Unfortunately, no close up photos of the tape work. I can tell you that the combination of raising the water line, changing to the dark navy blue boot stripe instead of the non descript blue/gray original, and adding the two red accent stripes really updated to look of the boat. I used a 1" masking tape spacer between the top of the bottom paint to get a nice "straight" (read non-wavy) line. BTW: I also taped over the sheer stripe with the Navy Blue. Since that stripe is thinner you will have to purchase a separate roll. I also used the 1” spacer for running the two red accent stripes. The top accent stripe was 1” below the sheer stripe while the bottom accent stripe was 1” above the boot stripe.

Trim rings available in the HOW store.

Teak doors are avaialbe from H & L Marine in Rancho Domiquez. You would need an old door as a sample or make a drawing.
