I've sailed cats many times. The issue with catamarans in Greece is med mooring. It's not like the BVI. Most of the charter boats in Greece are still monohulls mainly because there is limited space on the dock to med-moore. Cats take up too much space. We used The Moorings in 2017 to sail Greece. Assuming the eight people are four couples, you’d want at least a 50’ mono hull. Having said that, I agree with others about chartering a catamaran for that many. We chartered a 45 Leopard cat in the BVI with 8 people and it was fantastic. I was worried about how she would sail being a catamaran and I had not heard any good comments about sailing them. Let me, she sailed just fine. For that Charter, we used Conch Charters. They have a little older boats but are less expensive to charter and are well maintained.
You’re correct, I forgot about the med mooring issue. A monohull is a much better choice in Greece as you say!I've sailed cats many times. The issue with catamarans in Greece is med mooring.
