I am planning a trip to Greece in late May. Anyone out there have any recommendations for a charter company? Looking for a large monohull for 8 people for a week to tour the islands

Agreed. Their would be MUCH more living and socializing space. I delivered an FP Lipari from Annapolis to Marsh Harbor a few years ago. Great boat, lots of room for the 5 onboard. For 8, you'd probably want to step up to the Semana I would guess. They go all the way to a 67, IIRC.

Can't help with a charter outfit, sorry.

Let's all focus on the original question. I chartered in Greece in 2019 through Dream Yacht Charters and I didn't love them. I would love to find a charter company similar to Conch Charters in the BVI that charters slightly older boats at a lower price.

We used The Moorings in 2017 to sail Greece. Assuming the eight people are four couples, you’d want at least a 50’ mono hull. Having said that, I agree with others about chartering a catamaran for that many. We chartered a 45 Leopard cat in the BVI with 8 people and it was fantastic. I was worried about how she would sail being a catamaran and I had not heard any good comments about sailing them. Let me, she sailed just fine. For that Charter, we used Conch Charters. They have a little older boats but are less expensive to charter and are well maintained.

I've sailed cats many times. The issue with catamarans in Greece is med mooring. It's not like the BVI. Most of the charter boats in Greece are still monohulls mainly because there is limited space on the dock to med-moore. Cats take up too much space.

You’re correct, I forgot about the med mooring issue. A monohull is a much better choice in Greece as you say!
