Hello all, my Hunter 34 has been on the hard since mid October and she will not be splashed until mid May. No need to say that right about now, I really am suffering from the winter blahs! I will be traveling to Jacksonville, FL on business and will get to spend Saturday and Sunday March 8 and 9 in the Jax area. If anybody out in that area is looking for a crew for those days, I would be very happy to join you. You can forward your email address or phone number to me at c.l.auger@videotron.ca and I will be happy to get in touch. Thanks in advance

River City Regatta...Mar 9th

Dunno for sure the possibilities...really. Check out 'rudderclub.com' and find the calendar there. Your best bet is to get a map (online?) and just show up the day of the race and walk the dock....they are a friendly bunch of family type sailors....but probably suggest you bring your own libations... Too bad you won't be in town for the MUG RACE....its the 50th year of the race and is SURE to be a good time. 'The longest river race in the world' is a 38 mile tacking fest from Palatka to the club....and has seen everything from a drifter to 30+ on the nose in the past couple of years... real fun.

Dale, What are you driving in the mug race?

I have been doing the mug race since 1991. I missed it last year but since it was a drifter I didnt miss it to much. The year before (2001)I took 3rd place in the multihull spinnaker class. I really like the handicap starts. I love coming from behind flying a hull and blowing the doors off the early starters. ted

50th year of Mug Race

I am feverishly attempting to complete a major refit of my '78 C&C 34....which has been TOO long on the hard. I'll be on 'Island Time'...if I can make it...else there are options to crew. With a mast height around 47' I'd be doing the north course. Good luck. It is a shame that more people haven't discovered the St. Johns River and all it offers....This year is going to be a special year for the race. I hope the wind gods smile.

Guys if it floats and has a sail on it, Do the Mug

If you are within a 300 mile radius of Jax Florida the first of May you got to do this race. It doesnt matter what you sail. I have even seen a canoe with a sail in this race! Dale....I hope this year the wind has a S in it. South, SE, SW dont care aslong as I can carry the chute. I'll be on my Nacra 6.0 again. The Mug race is one of my top three races. The Mug race, The Steeple Chase (Key Largo) and Round the Island (Fort Walton) Cant wait! Ted

Pearson Wanderer Titusville, Florida
Trans-Monroe is this weekend

This race is hosted by the Lake Monroe Sailing Assn. on Lake Monroe (natch) near Sanford, Florida. The lake is the upper navigable limit of the St John's River and is midway between Daytona Beach and Orlando. Saturday's race is around the lake (12 to 14 nm) and Sunday's races are around the buoys. It's usually a blast but unfortunately I can't make it this year. If you're in the area, stop by the Monroe Harbour Marina. Peter H23 "Raven"
