I know this is a long shot but back in 1976 when I was a senior in high school I built a Sunfish clone out of plywood. I found the plans in a magazine in the schools library. I didn't want to steal the magazine so I just ripped out the pages and took them home 
It was a complete set of plans but you could have ordered a large set if you wanted to. I know it was a 1975 magazine because I started to build early 1976 and had to save up for the wood etc. I am not sure if it was Popular Science, Mechanics or Mechanix Illustrated. It was not called a Sunfish but another name. It took maybe 3 months to build in the garage. I didn't have a lateen rig so I bought a used Widgeon sail & mast instead.....used pvc pipe for the boom Anyway, we had a ball on that thing. Used to balance it on top of my VW roof and tie it down and drive to the bay Any of you remember this Sunfish clone or even built one? I would love to get my hands on that magazine. Just knowing the name of the boat that the magazine called it would help in my search.
