I have a Xantrex four-stage external alternator regulator that is essentially identical to the Balmar ARC-4 units. It has capability for an alternator and a battery temperature sensor to prevent over-heating of either of these two parts.
I would like to attach an alternator sensor, and I know that it is a simple thermistor at the end of a two-wire cable. The Balmar part number is "MC-TS-A"
These sell for about $35-40 but the part itself is probably less than $5. Does anyone know that actual industry part number that is used? I just hate to pay 7-8X more for a part. I spoke to a Balmar rep at a show and he agreed that the part is overpriced but he did not know the commercial part number.
