I am looking to add a newport solid fuel cabin heater to my boat this spring. Not being essential to my boat( I can't really justify the cost of a new one) and probably hard to destroy an old one, I am looking for direction to find a used one. Can anyone advise possible marine salvage stores in the New England area to check? I have already inquired at the one in Wickford R.I. Thank You in Advance, Mark

ebay?

Mark - I would watch Ebay. All sorts of stuff comes across. I went looking for an arcane, out of porduction part for my 25 year old motorcycle and found lots! Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Don't buy a Newport

The Newport looks pretty but is poorly built. The firebox cannot be sealed and heat makes the front door instantly unuseable except by sledge hammer. We know, we have one. You can't really control the fire and if you want to burn something like coal, you must add a forced draft fan. Find a Cole solid fuel heater. It's about the same size and price, it's black and ugly but you can seal the firebox and you can control the fire.
