hi again guys...
im looking for a marina that provides lift to water, floating docks a must.
in the Bradenton to cape coral area.
reasonable price(if there still such a thing) doesn't have to be fancy is just while I break the ice back into boating
and get the ball rolling. As always the generosity of the good people in this site regarding their sharing of information is a blessing and appreciated. thx in advance.

I visit Cape Coral FL several times a year. I was there 2 days ago. We have visited many private and public dock/marinas, I don't think any of them were floating.
Isn't the tidal range a max of about 3 feet? Why floating?
My marina is floating but I'm at an inland lake and the water level varies a lot more than 3 feet.

Had my previous boat on a floating dock and my present boat on fixed piling dock. Floating dock was nice; however, in my opinion, they are not going to weather a Cat 2 or above hurricane without breaking up. Of course, I haven’t experienced what would happen in a similar storm with fixed piling and hope that I don’t.

It’s been almost 60 years since we’ve had a typhoon come through here. I don’t recall a lot of damage to floating docks but most of our marinas are pretty protected. Of coarse 60 years is a long time ago and my memory was never very good.

Burnt Store Marina was doing all new floating docks when I was there a few weeks back they also
redoing the Marina.
Great spot to go sailing in Charlotte Harbor and great for heading south to Keys or North to Tampa.

well at the public marina in Dunedin Fl whenever there was lowvtide it was a nightmare to get up on the dock or jump down on your boat and risk breaking something. it would be like 4 or 5 feet difference... not fun, and the marina in Ruskin is the same thing thats why i got picky about it.

A lot of folks have a passerelle which eliminates jumping and climbing. I know floating docks are common up north where tidal range is high but they (and the boats tied to them) don’t fare well in hurricanes
