Looking for "handles" for the cabin

I'm not even sure what to call these but I would like to find some to put in my boat. I have two strips of wood mounted to the ceiling and would like to screw something like these handles to that wood so I can string some rope lights in as well as attach other important things up out the way.

there called teak handrails and you can get them in 1 loop or up to 7 or 9 loops

Keep in mind these handles are usually thru bolted as they must be able to take your weight under adverse conditions.

PO of my boat had installed a teak loop on my companionway hatch poorly. On my previous boat I was in the habit of swinging below using one in the same location, sucker on the new boat broke off leaving me with a nice fall and a bump on the head.

We replaced it with a stainless loop from Defender.com. It's thru bolted and last time I looked they had them in the clearance section.

Have you found your teak handrails? I have one about 20" long I'd like to let go cheaply. Or you could try eBay.

When I replaced the external teak handrails on my O'Day with PlasTeak, I used the original teak rails inside as pictured. I thru-bolted the inside and external rails together. That is also how the rails on my current Catalina are done. If you can find ones that match the same loop size as the ones on the outside, I'd get new bolts and thru-bolt them together. Very strong and you don't have to drill new holes.

You can get stainless rails too if you don't want more wood, or replace the external rails with PlasTeak or Stainless and move the current rails to the inside.

As mentioned by a previous poster - DO NOT SCREW THEM IN . Even if you don't PLAN to use them as actual handholds, you never know when you or someone else may need to grab hold of the first thing that comes in reach...
