I also have an "intermittant starting" problem on my 2000 Hunter h410. I talked to my dealer, Bruce Roberts of Harbor North, Huron, OH and he told me that a h410 owner in Sandusky, Bryan (I think he said) has a Hunter h410 and had the same problem. He fixed it by adding another relay to the circuit. I'd love to contact him and get the details of his fix. Can anybody out there help? Thanks! Capt Bill on STARGAZER

Adding another relay is certainly one solution (have done this and it certainly helped) but the ultimate low cost fix is to add a switched power connection to the side of the main starter relay where the wire from the ignition switch/starter button connects! The only disadvantage is that this does not provide the usual remote starting arrangement.

I had the same problem. Just run a new wire from the key switch to the solenoid. You don't need to add a relay or anything. Mine works every time.

Just wondering, is the intermittent starting issue when you go to start up, it seems the battery is low or dead but if you keep trying it fires up? if so, I too have that issue and have looking for a fix. I have a 1982 H27 with a yanmar 1gm. I have been told the starter wires are undersized, but I have not yet looked to see what is involved in rewiring them.
