looking for auto helm 4000 control unit

I have a 27 foot hunter 1979 that came with an auto helm 4000 and the control unit is missing interested in purchasing a used one.

Thats going to be difficult as ST4000 Head has been out of production for several years as I found out years ago. Had to bite the bullet to replace with SPX-5.

Just saw them for about 600 bucks on eBay.

I wonder if a newer head might work on this system?

Steve, I have two control units for the Navico WP4000 in my garage- not sure if they would work with the Autohelm 4000, though...

I have an ST-4000 head (vintage 1984) that was factory refurbed. It has a wired remote for it as well. Has the power plug and socket too. Am willing to sell it for a reasonable price. Was working well when replaced because the wheel unit failed.

There is a guy on EBay that sells and repairs these vintage units at a fair price. I had him repair my ST-4000 unit last year and was very happy with his work. Do a search for "KodiakJack99" on EBay. That is his seller ID.
