O'Day Mariner Salem
I am interested in buying an O'Day Mariner. I have searched extensively online, but every notice I see about a Mariner for sale was posted over 5 years ago. I was considering going to Stuart Marine in Maine to look at their boats, although they are quite expensive. Has anyone bought a boat from them, and if so, how was the experience?

the Mariner is an awesome boat and the Class Association is even more awesome. Check it out, they will help you find one.

Massachusetts and Connecticut are very popular areas for these boats, I'm surprised you are having difficulty. Any help, I'm happy to assist. I am the VP of Communications for the MCA.

I found my boat of choice (MacGregor 26S) on Craigslist. It's neither terribly easy nor terribly difficult to research different geographical areas. Just bookmark the pages for areas you are willing to travel to and check them on a regular basis.

Another good place to search is

sailboatlistings.com

…but they are not good at deleting old ads so look at the date the ad was posted at the bottom of the ads tile

I sold my Rhodes 19 through Stuart Marine this past summer. Dave who works there and listed the boat was pleasant to deal with. I ended up negotiating with the buyer because I needed the money for the Capri 22 I was buying. Maybe if you see one on their site the seller will negotiate? I would just check with Stuart Marine once and awhile as they constantly get new listings. BTW I loved my Rhodes and the Mariner is the same hill just different cabin/cockpit layout. Contact them (Dave) and see if you can get a better price on any of the ones listed.

Listed in New Hampshire Craigslist under "boats" "sailboats": There is an Oday Mariner with a light green hull listed as a "2 + 2" and "price reduced. It appears to be near Concord, Massachusetts. Looks nice on its trailer.
