Looking for advice on installing solar panels on hunter 380

We are hoping someone can save us headache and heartache by sharing what they have found works for installing solar panels on a Hunter 380. We plan to install them on the david. Looks like we'll have to drill into the hull to run wiring. Any suggestions?
