Hi everyone,

I've been searching for a particular type of sign with no luck so far.

"No Shoes, or Boat Shoes, Please"

Has anyone come across a vendor that makes it......without my giving up my first born?

Thanks and Happy Sailing

Isn't that redundant? Or are boat shoes not shoes? I haven't seen one of these signs on mats in a long time. You may want to consider an alternative: have a plastic sign(s) made up and hang it on the lifeline next to where you normally board the boat. Size and color to your choosing, and also large enough to see the font but not too intrusive so you could leave it in place all the time. Mats tend to wear out a lot sooner than plastic laminate. Mats could prove to be more costly in the long run.

Oh, and help me out about the shoes question, too. Would you consider "No shoes, INCLUDING boat shoes"? Is that what you meant?

Given the recent discussions about sailing in the rain and boating shoes perhaps you meant only to go below and the mat would be in forward end of the cockpit. Same idea for the sign might apply. But once a guest is already on board, and "that far" into a relationship with you, the skipper, a sign there would seem a tad, well, hard to describe...

Slow down Stu....

Just a minute. I'M the retired Analyst here.:poke:

Perhaps my sign would read better as, "Boat Shoes, or NO Shoes".

I hadn't thought of this as a mat, which would be difficult since I have two steps up from the finger.

I was thinking in terms of a hanging sign and was hoping to find one that is already set up.

Thank you for your interest and Happy Sailing,
